- well even so, you know, as the rest of us Amiga owners know the sore point
- that the current Amiga's lack RAW CPU power, so as a 1st stage we need to
- upgrade our machines in that respect, and what would be better than using RISC-based PPC chip
- which have been proven to have superiority over the Pentiums from Intel.
- the current technology in the Amiga is just fine although it does lack
- speed (and documentation for that matter). if AT can boost its chip-set's
- speed higher than 25 Mhz to let's say 66 or 80Mhz or even 200Mhz then we'll see considerable
- advantage over PC's using their latest graphics technology (ie s3). the AGA
- shines as it is on most graphics intensive apps, however for heavy 3D usage
- it's still a little behind due to speed limitation and not technology.
- having a powerful CPU to back-up those chips would help increase performance
- exponentially, and you know what that means, performance == success.
- AT's objective is definitly providing more speedy AGA chipsets, that is
- the most important thing to boost performance sky-high.

- higher prices == higher quality. sure the PC's have many manufacturers but
- as you said they also have most of the market, so virtually every manufacturer
- has some piece of the market anyway, so he produces low quality hardware
- with standard hardware. on the Amiga however, since there's only one manufacturer
- it better produce high quality hardware or else shut down. it must be virtually
- the best against the giant PC or else it'll die for sure. customers can demand
- more and more performance and AT has to respond to that demand all the time
- because of the fragile state it's in.

- you're absolutly right here no doubt, but if and when we get to the point where
- the Amiga reaches high-end PC performance that'll be great as a first stage in the
- battle against pc dominance. the amiga still has a large (and loyal) user base,
- so such a machine will be a marketing hit for AT, and consequently bring leadership
- in the Amiga. but no doubt the Amiga in the long run must overcome the high-end PC's
- in order for it to make a difference, but its immediate goals is performance == high-end PC
- and soon, REALLY soon cuz even the most persistant Amiga user will eventually move to the
- dark side (teehee) cuz the morale of the troops are low and we're constantly losing ranks
- (and patience).

- i am too, a loyal Amiga owner/user, may the PC's rot in hell. hehehehehe
- about to get my A1260 sooooooon.
